The Outline (Anukramaṇī) of the Viṣṇu Purāṇa
सदाचारश्च कथितो मायामोहकथा ततः । तृतीयोंऽशोऽयमुदितः सर्वपापप्रणाशनः ॥ १० ॥
sadācāraśca kathito māyāmohakathā tataḥ | tṛtīyoṃ'śo'yamuditaḥ sarvapāpapraṇāśanaḥ || 10 ||
La bonne conduite (sadācāra) a été décrite, puis vient le récit de l’égarement né de Māyā. Ainsi ce troisième volet a-t-il été exposé, lui qui détruit tous les péchés.
Suta (narrating the structured summary/anukrama of the Purana’s sections)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It frames the third portion as a purifying teaching: by learning sadācāra (ethical discipline) and understanding māyā-moha (how delusion arises), one removes sin and becomes fit for devotion and liberation.
Bhakti matures when conduct is purified and delusion is recognized. The verse signals that this section supports devotion by correcting behavior (sadācāra) and dispelling māyā-born confusion that obstructs steady remembrance of the Lord.
No single Vedāṅga is taught directly in this verse; the practical takeaway is dhārmic discipline (sadācāra) as the foundation that makes study, mantra-usage, and ritual practice effective and free from error born of moha.
