The verse highlights that the text functions as a practical dharma-guide: it clarifies how tapas (austerity) and vrata (vowed observances) mature into specific spiritual and worldly results, and it organizes the supporting Vedic sciences needed to perform them correctly.
By emphasizing vrata, mantra, and disciplined practice, the verse frames devotion as lived sādhanā—bhakti supported by regulated observances and correct ritual knowledge—so that devotion is not merely sentiment but a structured spiritual path.
It points to the systematic division of the Vedāṅgas—such as Kalpa (ritual procedure), Jyotiṣa (sacred time/astrology), and Vyākaraṇa (grammar for mantra correctness)—as the technical foundation for understanding mantras, yantras, and the fruits of rites.
