FAQs

It highlights dharmic order in ritual hospitality: first honoring Brahmins, then partaking of the sanctified remainder (śeṣa/prasāda) and sharing joy with one’s family—turning consumption into a disciplined, merit-bearing act.

By emphasizing reverence, humility, and acceptance of the sanctified remainder after worship/guest-offering, it reflects a bhakti attitude: receiving food as prasad and sharing it in gratitude rather than indulgence.

Ritual procedure and conduct (kalpa-oriented practice) is implied: the correct sequence of honoring guests/Brahmins, then eating the remainder, and maintaining auspicious social harmony—key elements of smārta/vaidika sadācāra.
