The exposition of the Pañcamī vow to be observed in the twelve months
Narada (teaching in the Narada Purana dialogue tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: karuna
It links worship (abhyarcana) with compassion (dāna): food first becomes an offering, and then the same sanctified food is shared, making charity an extension of ritual purity and devotion.
Bhakti is shown as reverence to the divine followed by loving service to living beings—offering to the gods and then giving to supplicants with a joyful heart.
Ritual practice (kalpa-style procedure) is implied: bathe for śauca (purity), present naivedya before the deity, and distribute the offered food—emphasizing correct sequence and intent in worship.
