The Explanation of the Twelve-Month Caturthī Vrata
pūjanī yo'tra yatnena sraggaṃdhayavasādibhiḥ | tataḥ pradakṣiṇīkṛtya śaktaśceddānamācaret || 24 ||

Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It links three complementary limbs of dharma—devotional worship (pūjā), reverential circumambulation (pradakṣiṇā), and generosity (dāna)—presenting a complete act of sacred honor that purifies intention and action.
Bhakti is expressed not only through offerings like flowers and fragrance, but also through bodily reverence (clockwise circumambulation) and compassionate sharing (charity), showing devotion as both ritual and ethical conduct.
It reflects kalpa/prayoga (ritual procedure): the ordered sequence of upacāras—offering items, then pradakṣiṇā, followed by dāna when possible—emphasizing correct performance and capacity-based giving.
