The Account of the Third-day Vow Observed through the Twelve Months
Tṛtīyā-vrata
Narada (in a summary-style narration within the Purva Bhaga Fourth Pada)
Vrata: Gaurī-vrata (contextual)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It elevates Gaurī (Pārvatī) as the unique source of saubhāgya—auspicious well-being, especially marital harmony—emphasizing that her grace is unrivaled across the three worlds.
It teaches focused devotion: rather than excessive argument, one should take refuge in a chosen iṣṭa-devatā; here, sincere devotion to Gaurī is presented as a direct means to attain auspicious grace.
While not a technical Vedāṅga instruction, it reflects applied Dharma in a Purāṇic register—guiding householders toward deity-centered vrata and worship for saubhāgya rather than abstract speculation.
