The Exposition of the Pratipadā Vrata for the Twelve Months
Narada (teaching within a vrata-phala section, in dialogue framework with Sanatkumara tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: vira
It teaches that long-term disciplined observance (a twelve-year vrata) culminates in a devotional act of offering to the guru, and that such bhakti-yukta completion yields an exalted posthumous state—honor in Śivaloka.
Bhakti is shown as the decisive inner quality: the offering is not merely ritual completion, but an act done “with devotion” to the guru, making the vrata spiritually efficacious and leading to divine honor.
Ritual procedure and timing are implied—completion “in the twelfth year” reflects kalpa-style vrata-vidhi (practical dharma/ritual science), emphasizing correct observance and proper concluding offering (guru-samarpana).
