FAQs

It frames livelihood (vṛtti) as a dharmic category and notes that certain modes of earning tend to increase worldly enjoyment; the Purana then directs that Kṣatriya conduct be taught correctly so power and prosperity remain aligned with dharma.

Indirectly: by regulating worldly life through dharma (proper vṛtti), the mind becomes steadier and less conflicted, creating supportive conditions for sustained Vishnu-bhakti rather than uncontrolled pursuit of bhoga.

The verse is primarily dharma/nīti-oriented rather than a specific Vedāṅga; its practical takeaway is classification of conduct and livelihood (vṛtti-viveka), a common framework used in dharma discussions and puranic summaries.
