The Exposition of the Table of Contents of the Brahmavaivarta Purāṇa
Suta (narrating to the sages at Naimisharanya, within the Purana’s summary framework)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It frames travel (gamanam) as a disciplined quest for jñāna, emphasizing that proximity to a siddha-sevita, highly meritorious āśrama accelerates inner clarity and spiritual refinement.
Though the verse is jñāna-oriented, it supports bhakti indirectly by valuing holy association and sacred places—key supports for devotion—where elevated beings and sanctity inspire steadiness in practice.
The practical takeaway is the Narada Purana’s applied dharma principle: seeking jñāna through satsanga and tīrtha/āśrama association; it aligns with smārta guidance on choosing auspicious, spiritually charged settings for study and sādhana (rather than a specific Vedanga like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa).
