कृताभिषेकस्तत्रैव नियतो नियताशन: । गवां मेधस्य यज्ञस्य फल प्राप्नोति भारत,भारत! जो वहाँ स्नान करके नियमपालनपूर्वक नियमित भोजन करता है, वह गोमेधयज्ञका फल पाता है
kṛtābhiṣekas tatraiva niyato niyatāśanaḥ | gavāṁ medhasya yajñasya phalaṁ prāpnoti bhārata ||
Ô Bhārata, celui qui, en ce lieu même, accomplit le bain rituel prescrit, vit dans des observances disciplinées et se nourrit avec mesure, obtient le mérite (phala) du sacrifice Gavāṁ-medha.
घुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse teaches that disciplined observance—ritual purity (bathing), restraint, and regulated eating—can confer the same religious merit as an elaborate sacrifice, emphasizing inner discipline and ethical self-control as powerful means of dharmic attainment.
A speaker (here attributed as “ghulastya”) describes the spiritual benefit of performing prescribed rites at a sacred spot: by bathing there and maintaining vows with regulated food, a person gains the fruit of the Gavāṁ-medha sacrifice.
