इस प्रकार श्रीम्याभारत वनपर्वके अन्तर्गत मार्कण्डेयसमास्यापर्वनें मत्स्योपाख्यानविषयक एक सौ सतासीवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ

Transliteration

iti prakāraḥ śrīmahābhārata-vanaparvaṇi antargata-mārkaṇḍeya-samāsyāparvaṇā matsyopākhyāna-viṣayaka ekaśata-saptāśītitamo 'dhyāyaḥ samāptaḥ

Translation

Ainsi s’achève le cent quatre-vingt-septième chapitre du Matsya-upākhyāna (l’épisode concernant le roi Matsya), au sein du Markandeya Samasya Parvan du Vana Parva du Mahābhārata sacré. Ce colophon final marque l’achèvement de la section racontée et l’inscrit comme un épisode d’enseignement clos dans le vaste cadre du « Livre de la Forêt ».
