0 ते दिश:ः खं च सैन्यं च समावृण्वन् महाहवे । मुहूर्ताद् भास्करस्येव लोके राजन् गभस्तय:,राजन! जैसे दो ही घड़ीमें सूर्यकी किरणें सारे संसारमें फैल जाती हैं, उसी प्रकार उस महासमरमें वे बाण सम्पूर्ण दिशाओं, आकाश और समस्त सेनाओंमें छा गये
te diśaḥ khaṃ ca sainyaṃ ca samāvṛṇvan mahāhave | muhūrtād bhāskarasy eva loke rājan gabhastayaḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : Dans cette grande bataille, ces traits se répandirent et couvrirent les directions, le ciel et les armées — de même que, ô Roi, en un bref instant les rayons du soleil envahissent le monde entier. L’image souligne avec quelle rapidité et quelle ampleur la violence humaine s’étend dès qu’elle est lâchée sur le champ de bataille.
