।। पाण्डवास्तु जयं लब्ध्वा परत्र च महद् यश:
pāṇḍavās tu jayaṁ labdhvā paratra ca mahad yaśaḥ
Sañjaya dit : Ayant remporté la victoire, les Pāṇḍava obtiennent aussi une grande renommée dans le monde d’au-delà—signe que le succès juste, dans une cause droite, donne à la fois le triomphe immédiat et une gloire morale durable.
संजय उवाच
The verse links worldly victory with posthumous renown: when success is aligned with dharma, it yields not only immediate results (jaya) but also lasting ethical glory (yaśas) that extends to the hereafter (paratra).
Sañjaya, narrating events to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, remarks that the Pāṇḍavas have secured victory and, along with it, great fame that will endure beyond this life—framing their outcome as both a military and moral attainment.
