Adhyāya 141 — Night duels: Śaineya and Bhūriśravas; Droṇi and Ghaṭotkaca; Bhīma and Duryodhana
The verse highlights kṣatriya discipline: even amid moral strain and violence, the warrior’s duty is carried out with preparedness, self-control, and adherence to the role demanded by dharma in wartime.
Sañjaya reports that the Kaunteya (a Pāṇḍava) takes up a leather shield decorated with gold, signaling immediate readiness for combat in the ongoing battle sequence of Droṇa Parva.
