Bhūriśravas’s Censure, Prāyopaveśa, and Sātyaki’s Beheading
समाश्चस्य च हार्दिक्यो गृह चान्यन्महद् धनु: । तस्थौ स तत्र बलवान् वारयन् युधि पाण्डवान्,उधर बलवान कृतवर्मा आश्वस्त होकर दूसरा विशाल धनुष हाथमें लेकर युद्धस्थलमें पाण्डवोंका सामना करता हुआ वहीं खड़ा रहा
samāścāsya ca hārdikyo gṛhe cānyan mahad dhanuḥ | tasthau sa tatra balavān vārayann yudhi pāṇḍavān ||
Sañjaya dit : Kṛtavarmā, fils de Hṛdīka, ayant repris contenance, saisit un autre grand arc et se tint ferme là, sur le champ de bataille, retenant avec puissance les Pāṇḍava dans le combat.
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores steadiness and the performance of one’s martial role: even after being shaken, a warrior regains composure, takes up his weapon again, and fulfills his duty on the battlefield.
Sañjaya reports that Kṛtavarmā, identified as Hārdikya, becomes reassured, takes another large bow in hand, and stands his ground, actively resisting the Pāṇḍavas in the ongoing combat.
