Adhyāya 113: Karṇa–Bhīma Śaravarṣa and the Battlefield Aftermath (कर्णभीमशरवर्षः)

द्रोणो न सैन्यं बलवत्‌ क्रामेत्‌ तत्र कथंचन । जहाँ शत्रुवीरोंका संहार करनेवाला द्रुपदकुमार संग्रामभूमिमें खड़ा होगा, वहाँ मेरी प्रबल सेनापर द्रोणाचार्य किसी तरह आक्रमण नहीं कर सकते ।।

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca |

droṇo na sainyaṃ balavat krāmet tatra kathaṃcana |

yatra śatruvīrāṇāṃ saṃhārakaro drupadakumāraḥ saṅgrāmabhūmau sthāsyati, tatra mama prabale sainye droṇācāryaḥ kathaṃcid api nākrāmitum arhati ||

eṣa droṇavināśāya samutpanno hutāśanāt ||

Yudhiṣṭhira dit : «Droṇa ne peut, d’aucune manière, avancer avec force contre l’armée en ce lieu. Car là où se tient sur le champ de bataille le fils de Drupada—destructeur des héros ennemis—, là Droṇācārya ne saurait lancer d’assaut contre ma puissante armée. Celui-ci est né du feu sacrificiel pour la destruction même de Droṇa.»
