Adhyāya 113: Karṇa–Bhīma Śaravarṣa and the Battlefield Aftermath (कर्णभीमशरवर्षः)
वारयिष्यति विक्रम्य वेलेव मकरालयम् । शत्रुओंको संताप देनेवाला धृष्टद्युम्न समरांगणमें कुपित हुए द्रोणाचार्यको पराक्रम करके रोक लेगा। ठीक वैसे ही, जैसे तटकी भूमि समुद्रको आगे बढ़नेसे रोक देती है ।।
vārayiṣyati vikramya veleva makarālayam | śatrūṇāṃ saṃtāpa-denavālaḥ dhṛṣṭadyumnaḥ samarāṅgaṇe kupitān droṇācāryān parākrameṇa rokṣyati | ṭhīk vaise hī, jaise taṭakī bhūmi samudraṃ āge baḍhane se rok detī hai || 48 || yatra sthāsyati saṃgrāme pārṣataḥ paravīrahā
Yudhiṣṭhira dit : «S’avançant avec vaillance, Dhṛṣṭadyumna—qui inflige aux ennemis une brûlante détresse—arrêtera sur le champ de bataille Droṇācārya, en proie à la colère. De même que la terre ferme du rivage retient la mer et l’empêche de se ruer en avant, ainsi le contiendra-t-il partout où Droṇa prendra position dans le combat : le pourfendeur des héros adverses, le fils de Pṛṣata.»
