Adhyaya 89: शौचाचारलक्षणम् — सदाचार, भैक्ष्यचर्या, प्रायश्चित्त, द्रव्यशुद्धि, आशौच-निर्णय

चतुर्थ्यां स्त्री न गम्या तु गतो ऽल्पायुः प्रसूयते विद्याहीनं व्रतभ्रष्टं पतितं पारदारिकम्

caturthyāṃ strī na gamyā tu gato 'lpāyuḥ prasūyate vidyāhīnaṃ vratabhraṣṭaṃ patitaṃ pāradārikam

Au quatrième jour lunaire (Caturthī), on ne doit pas s’approcher d’une femme pour l’union charnelle. D’une telle transgression, dit-on, naît une progéniture à courte vie—dépourvue de juste connaissance, déchue des vœux, avilie et portée vers l’épouse d’autrui—ce qui renforce les liens du pāśa entravant la marche du paśu vers le Seigneur (Pati), Śiva.
