Shloka 40

विष्णुरुवाच—एकाक्षर-प्रणव-लिङ्ग-व्याप्ति-शिवस्तोत्रम्

एतत्स्तोत्रवरं पुण्यं सर्वपापप्रणाशनम् यः पठेच्छ्रावयेद्वापि ब्राह्मणान् वेदपारगान्

etatstotravaraṃ puṇyaṃ sarvapāpapraṇāśanam yaḥ paṭhecchrāvayedvāpi brāhmaṇān vedapāragān

Cet hymne suprêmement excellent est saint et détruit tous les péchés. Quiconque le récite—ou le fait entendre à des brāhmaṇa maîtres des Veda—reçoit ce mérite purificateur; car le śravaṇa et le pāṭha conduisent le paśu (l’âme liée) vers la grâce (anugraha) de Pati, Śiva, le Seigneur qui tranche le pāśa (lien).
