FAQs

This verse does not directly teach Ātman-doctrine; it establishes the dhārmic setting of respectful inquiry and receptivity, which the Purāṇa treats as a prerequisite for receiving higher teachings about Īśvara and the Self.

No explicit yoga practice is taught in this verse; it models the preparatory discipline for śāstra—calm, reassurance, and proper seating in satsanga—supporting the later Kurma Purana teachings associated with Pāśupata-oriented devotion and contemplative instruction.

It does not address Śiva–Viṣṇu unity directly; it sets the formal dialogue context in which the Kurma Purana later presents integrated Śaiva-Vaiṣṇava theology and Īśvara-centered instruction.
