Related Themes: Agni Purana 93 (dikpāla-bali sequence continuing around the mandala)
It specifies direction-based naivedya/bali: which deity is honored (Varuṇa/Mitra/Rudra) and what food offering (modana, ghee-cooked rice) is to be placed at a particular directional corner (Vāyu corner) and position (lower/outer).
It preserves a precise ritual-geometry and offering taxonomy—linking deities, directions (dik), and prescribed foods—showing the Agni Purana’s practical coverage of temple/household worship, vastu-style spatial mapping, and naivedya classifications.
Directional offerings are intended to harmonize the ritual space, propitiate the relevant deities of the quarters, remove directional obstacles, and secure protection and auspiciousness for the worshipper and the dwelling/altar.
