It prescribes a precise initiation/worship step: marking the initiate with an applicator made of burnt darbha tips, then placing flowers in the hand and instructing formal pranama—standardizing the sequence of purification, offering, and reverence.
It records operational temple/ritual micro-procedures (materials, tools, and order of actions), showing the Agni Purana’s coverage of practical liturgy alongside its broader teachings on dharma, iconography, and other sciences.
The burnt darbha-based marking signifies purification and consecration, while flowers and pranama cultivate humility and devotional alignment—framing the participant as ritually fit to proceed and accruing merit through reverent submission.
