Adhyāya 88 —
Teaching of the Nirvāṇa-Initiation

It instructs a Śaiva-Tantric śānti procedure: after contemplating the tattva-system with Sadāśiva as the causal ground, the practitioner performs the Śānti-Atīta rite, which includes ritual actions such as tāḍana (prescribed striking/tapping) along with related steps.
It bridges metaphysical doctrine (tattva-categories and Sadāśiva as hetu) with hands-on ritual engineering (śānti rites and specific kriyās like tāḍana), showing how the Agni Purana integrates philosophy, mantra-ritual, and practical religious technology in one compendium.
By grounding the rite in correct metaphysical contemplation (Sadāśiva as the ultimate cause), the śānti practice is framed as both purification and pacification—aimed at removing obstacles, calming afflictions, and aligning the practitioner with Śiva-centered order (śiva-tattva) for protective merit.
