Chapter 59 —
Adhivāsana: The Rite of Inviting and Stabilizing Hari’s Presence

Concept: Causal order of inner faculties: buddhi (determinative intellect) gives rise to ahaṅkāra (I-maker), which gives rise to manas (coordinating mind).
Application: In meditation, notice decision/knowing (buddhi), then ‘I’ appropriation (ahaṅkāra), then mental traffic (manas); reverse the chain by relaxing ‘I’-appropriation to quiet the mind.

Related Themes: Agni Purana 59 (tattva-sṛṣṭi sequence continuing into tanmātras and indriyas)
It conveys tattva-vidyā (cosmological psychology): the sequential emergence of buddhi, ahaṅkāra, and manas, with buddhi described as eightfold and associated with prāṇa.
By embedding Sāṅkhya-style metaphysics and a technical model of the inner faculties (buddhi–ahaṅkāra–manas), it shows the text’s coverage beyond ritual—into philosophy, psychology, and cosmology.
Understanding the rise of ego and mind from subtler principles supports detachment and self-inquiry: recognizing ahaṅkāra as a product (not the Self) is presented as a basis for purification and liberation-oriented practice.
