Otros, entregados a la visión de la Verdad, son estos otros grandes Siete Ṛṣis. Asimismo, hay dioses cuya naturaleza nace de los guṇas de los seres, y otros cuya propia constitución es la austeridad (tapas).

Role: teaching
Cosmic Event: manvantara ontology (classification of sages and devas by guṇa/tapas dispositions)
It distinguishes spiritual temperaments: some beings are oriented to satya-darśana (truth-vision), some are shaped by guṇic impulses, and some are naturally grounded in tapas—implying that liberation in Shaiva thought matures through purification and Shiva-oriented insight beyond the guṇas.
Linga/Saguna-Shiva worship is a practical support for moving from guṇa-driven life toward satya-darśana; devotion, discipline, and contemplation refine the seeker so Shiva’s reality is ‘seen’ rather than merely believed.
Tapas is the implied discipline: steady japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), along with purity practices like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha, to stabilize the mind and grow truth-oriented perception.
