Sumitra’s Consolation to Kausalya

Al ver a tu hijo—rodeado de sus amigos—inclinarse ante ti con reverencia, pronto derramarás lágrimas de gozo, como nube del monzón, surcada de vetas, que suelta la lluvia.
Like a flake of cloud in monsoon, you are going to shed tears of joy soon seeing your son along with his friends bowing to you in reverence.
Dharma is sustained by hope and right expectation: the righteous path leads to auspicious outcomes, and reverence to parents is portrayed as a hallmark of dharmic life.
Sumitrā paints a reassuring future scene to lift Kausalyā’s grief—Rāma returning and honoring his mother.
Filial reverence (mātṛ-bhakti) and humility—Rāma’s respectful salutation to his mother.
