The Account of the Third-day Vow Observed through the Twelve Months
Tṛtīyā-vrata
Narada (teaching in a dialogue context with the Sanatkumara tradition)
Vrata: Tṛtīyā-vrata (as previously described)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It teaches that correct ritual performance (vidhi) combined with sincere vow-observance (vrata) yields a transcendent result: admission to the deity’s own realm (svīya-loka), indicating divine grace (prasāda) as the fruit.
Bhakti is implied through the idea of pleasing the deity—when the vow is observed with devotion and the offering is made properly, the deity becomes prasannā (gracious) and grants her loka, emphasizing grace as the culmination of practice.
It highlights Kalpa/ritual procedure: arghya-dāna must be done according to the earlier stated vidhi, showing the importance of precise liturgical method in producing the stated phala.
