prasūtiḥ prakṛter yā tu sā sṛṣṭiḥ prākṛtā smṛtā dainaṃdinī tathā proktā yāntarapralayād anu
That manifestation which arises from Prakṛti is remembered as the ‘Prākṛta’ creation. It is also called the ‘daily’ (dainaṃdinī) creation, for it follows upon each intermediate dissolution (antara-pralaya).
Sage Parāśara (teaching Maitreya)
Speaker: Parasara
Topic: Definitions of prākṛta creation and dainaṃdinī (daily) creation following antara-pralaya.
Teaching: Cosmological
Quality: authoritative
Creation Stage: Primary
Concept: Creation arising from Prakṛti is termed prākṛta, and it is also ‘daily’ because it recurs after each intermediate dissolution within the ongoing cosmic rhythm.
Vedantic Theme: Maya
Application: Use cyclical time as a contemplative lens: begin each day as a ‘new creation’ by resetting habits toward dharma and remembrance of the Lord.
Vishishtadvaita: Prakṛti’s manifestations are real as modes (prakāra) dependent on the Lord, recurring by His governance rather than autonomous chance.
Vishnu Form: Para-Brahman (philosophical)
Jagat Karana: Yes
This verse defines Prākṛta-sṛṣṭi as creation arising from Prakṛti, emphasizing that the manifest world proceeds through Nature’s unfoldment within a divinely ordered cosmic cycle.
Parāśara states it is termed “daily” because it occurs repeatedly, following each antara-pralaya—an intermediate dissolution after which the world-process resumes.
Even while the verse speaks in terms of Prakṛti and cyclical dissolutions, the Vishnu Purana frames these processes as operating under the supreme sovereignty of Vishnu, the ultimate ground and regulator of cosmic order.
