yathā te niścalaṃ ceto mayi bhaktisamanvitam tathā tvaṃ matprasādena nirvāṇaṃ param āpsyasi
As your mind remains unwavering, filled with devotion toward Me, so by My grace you shall attain the supreme nirvāṇa, the highest release.
Sage Parāśara (in the Parāśara–Maitreya dialogue), conveying the doctrine that liberation is secured through steady devotion and the Lord’s grace
Concept: Steady mind united with devotion leads, by the Lord’s grace, to supreme release (parama-nirvāṇa).
Vedantic Theme: Moksha
Application: Train steadiness through japa, sāttvika routine, and reducing distractions; rely on grace rather than anxiety about results.
Vishishtadvaita: Liberation is granted by Bhagavān’s prasāda to the devoted self, preserving the real distinction between jīva and Īśvara while affirming intimate dependence.
Vishnu Form: Vasudeva
Bhakti Type: Shanta
This verse presents steadiness of mind fixed on Vishnu, together with devotion, as the direct condition for attaining the highest liberation.
Parāśara emphasizes that even with devoted steadiness, the final attainment of supreme nirvāṇa is granted by the Lord’s favor—moksha is fulfilled through divine grace.
Vishnu is shown as the supreme refuge and the sovereign giver of moksha: devotion is directed to Him, and liberation is ultimately conferred by His will.
