ity uktvāntardadhe viṣṇus tasya maitreya paśyataḥ sa cāpi punar āgamya vavande caraṇau pituḥ
Having spoken thus, Lord Viṣṇu vanished from sight—O Maitreya—while he looked on. Returning, he bowed in reverence and touched his father’s feet.
Sage Parāśara (narrating to Maitreya)
Speaker: Parasara
Teaching: Devotional
Quality: authoritative
Vishnu Form: Hari
Bhakti Type: Dasya
It emphasizes Vishnu’s absolute sovereignty: the divine vision is granted and withdrawn by His will, underscoring that revelation is a grace rather than a human attainment.
Parāśara uses a direct address—“O Maitreya”—to anchor the episode as eyewitness-style narration, marking a clean transition from divine instruction to the human character’s return to duty.
The verse links devotion to Vishnu with dharma in daily life: reverence to parents is shown as a natural consequence of divine realization, not a departure from worldly responsibilities.
