वसिष्ठेन समानीता मुनिना यत्र गोमती । स्नातो भवति गंगायां यत्र स्नात्वा कलौ युगे
vasiṣṭhena samānītā muninā yatra gomatī | snāto bhavati gaṃgāyāṃ yatra snātvā kalau yuge
There is the river Gomatī, brought there by the sage Vasiṣṭha. Bathing there is equal to bathing in the Gaṅgā—especially for one who bathes there in the Kali age.
Skanda (deduced from Dvārakā Māhātmya narrative style within Skanda Purāṇa)
Tirtha: Gomatī (Dvārakā)
Type: river
Scene: Sage Vasiṣṭha, through tapas and mantra, ‘brings’ the Gomati—depicted as a river-goddess emerging and flowing toward Dvārakā; pilgrims bathe, with a subtle overlay of Gaṅgā iconography to show equivalence.
In Kali Yuga, tīrtha-bathing performed with faith is emphasized as a powerful and accessible purifier, comparable to Gaṅgā-snān.
The Gomatī river-tīrtha associated with Dvārakā, linked to Vasiṣṭha’s sanctifying act.
Snāna (ritual bathing), explicitly highlighted for Kali Yuga practitioners.
