Brahmā–Viṣṇu-Pūjā: Upacāra-Vistāra and Īśvara’s Prasāda
Offerings in Shiva Worship and the Lord’s Grace

Desiring to lead them across (the ocean of worldly existence), the Lord too—delighted—distributed all those things among the assembled people, separately and in due order.

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Not a specific Jyotirliṅga episode; the verse frames Īśvara’s compassionate bestowal of means (upāya) to help beings cross saṃsāra, a general Purāṇic motif of Śiva’s salvific grace.
Significance: General: hearing/reciting this episode is presented as bhakti-vardhana and grace-bestowing, orienting the listener toward liberation (pāra).
Role: liberating
Cosmic Event: Saṃsāra-sāgara-taraṇa motif (crossing the ocean of transmigration)
It portrays Shiva as Pati (the Lord) who, through compassionate grace and right order (yathākramam), equips seekers with supports for sadhana so they may cross samsara and reach the “farther shore” of liberation.
The verse emphasizes Saguna Shiva’s accessible mercy: the Lord actively bestows aids for worship and discipline, guiding devotees step-by-step—an essential theme of Linga-centered devotion where grace and practice work together.
The takeaway is disciplined, sequential practice—receive and use the prescribed supports of Shiva-worship (such as mantra-japa and orderly observances) consistently, as guidance “in due order” is itself part of the path across samsara.
