शिवपुराण-प्रशंसा (Praise of the Śiva Purāṇa) / Śivapurāṇa Māhātmya
तावत्सर्वाणि दानानि विवदंति महीतले । यावच्छिवपुराणं हि नोदेष्यति महीतले
tāvatsarvāṇi dānāni vivadaṃti mahītale | yāvacchivapurāṇaṃ hi nodeṣyati mahītale
So long do all charitable gifts remain a matter of dispute upon the earth—until indeed the Śiva Purāṇa is proclaimed upon the earth.

The verse teaches that ordinary merit (like dāna) can be debated or limited by circumstances, but the proclamation of the Śiva Purāṇa establishes clear Shaiva dharma and directs seekers toward devotion to Pati (Śiva), which leads toward liberation.
By elevating the teaching of the Śiva Purāṇa, it indirectly prioritizes śravaṇa and bhakti that culminate in Saguna Śiva-upāsanā—especially Linga worship—where doctrine and practice become anchored in Śiva’s revealed glory rather than social debate.
The practical takeaway is regular Śiva Purāṇa śravaṇa (listening/recitation) as a primary sādhana, ideally supported by daily Shiva bhakti such as japa of the Panchākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya).
