Pārthiva-Śiva-liṅga-māhātmya
The Excellence of the Earthen Śiva Liṅga
यथा सर्वेषु वर्णेषु ब्राह्मणःश्रेष्ठ उच्यते । तथा सर्वेषु लिंगेषु पार्थिवं श्रेष्ठमुच्यते
yathā sarveṣu varṇeṣu brāhmaṇaḥśreṣṭha ucyate | tathā sarveṣu liṃgeṣu pārthivaṃ śreṣṭhamucyate
Just as, among all the social orders (varṇas), the Brāhmaṇa is spoken of as the foremost, so too, among all Liṅgas, the earthen (pārthiva) Liṅga is declared the best.

Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It elevates the Pārthiva (earthen) Liṅga as the most accessible and efficacious form of Shiva-worship—showing that sincere devotion and right worship can make even simple material elements a powerful support for realizing Pati (Shiva) and moving toward liberation.
The Liṅga here is Saguna-upāsanā: a tangible focus for devotion that leads the mind toward Shiva beyond form. The verse teaches that the readily made earthen Liṅga is especially praised because it enables concentrated bhakti, purity of intention, and complete ritual offering without dependence on wealth.
Make a clean earthen Liṅga, worship with water/abhisheka and simple offerings while repeating the Panchākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya); conclude with respectful visarjana (immersion/return to earth), keeping the mind fixed on Shiva.
