Praṇava-Māhātmya and the Twofold Mantra (Sūkṣma–Sthūla) in Śaiva Sādhanā

समाधिस्थो महायोगीशिव एव न संशयः । ऋषिच्छंदोदेवतादि न्यस्य देहेपुनर्जपेत्

samādhistho mahāyogīśiva eva na saṃśayaḥ | ṛṣicchaṃdodevatādi nyasya dehepunarjapet

Established in samādhi, the great Yogin is verily Śiva—of this there is no doubt. Having performed the nyāsa of the seer (ṛṣi), metre (chandas), deity (devatā), and the rest upon his body, he should again repeat (the mantra) in japa.

FAQs

It teaches that deep absorption (samādhi) culminates in Śiva-consciousness: the perfected yogin realizes identity with Śiva, while continuing disciplined mantra-practice grounded in śāstric method.

Nyāsa and japa are Saguna, ritual-structured supports that purify the body-mind and steady devotion; through them, the seeker ripens toward the inner realization of Śiva beyond limitation, which is the fruit of Linga-worship and Shaiva sādhana.

Perform mantra-nyāsa (ṛṣi–chandas–devatā, etc.) on the body, then resume japa—ideally with steady dhyāna/samādhi—so the mantra becomes embodied and contemplative rather than merely verbal.
