With the discipline of softly uttered (sub-vocal) recitation, one should offer three oblations; then, worshipping the Lord of the gods again, one attains purification from any deficiency or lapse in the mantra.

It teaches that spiritual practice is perfected not merely by technique but by Śiva’s grace: when errors arise in japa or ritual, one returns to the Lord with renewed worship and a purifying act (three oblations), restoring inner and outer purity.
Calling Śiva “Deveśa” indicates Saguna worship—approaching the personal Lord through pūjā and ritual acts. Such worship supports mantra-sādhana by aligning the devotee’s intention and devotion with the Lord’s presence (often centered on the Liṅga).
Perform upāṁśu-japa (soft, inward recitation) and offer three āhutis in homa; then repeat pūjā to Śiva to cleanse any mantra lapses—an instruction for disciplined, corrective sādhanā.
