शिशुकस्य शिवशास्त्रप्राप्तिः (Śiśuka’s Attainment of Śaiva Teaching and Grace)
कृत्स्नाभावेन दारिद्र्यान्मया ते भाग्यहीनया । मिथ्यादुग्धमिदं दत्तम्पिष्टमालोड्य वारिणा
kṛtsnābhāvena dāridryānmayā te bhāgyahīnayā | mithyādugdhamidaṃ dattampiṣṭamāloḍya vāriṇā
Because of utter lack and poverty, I—unfortunate in my lot—have given you this ‘false milk’, made by stirring flour with water.
A poor, unfortunate woman (householder devotee) speaking to a guest/beggar-sage in the narrative of the Vāyavīyasaṃhitā
Tattva Level: pashu
Offering: naivedya
It highlights that sincere devotion and humility sanctify an offering even when it is materially inadequate—poverty does not obstruct grace when the heart is truthful and reverent.
In Saguna Shiva worship (including Linga-pūjā), the Purāṇic emphasis is that bhāva (inner intent) is primary; even simple naivedya becomes meaningful when offered with devotion and honesty.
Practice offering simple naivedya with purity of intention, accompanied by remembrance of Shiva (e.g., mental japa of the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), cultivating humility and truthfulness in worship.
