गौरीप्रवेशः—शिवसाक्षात्कारः
Gaurī’s Entry and the Vision of Śiva
देव्युवाच । किं देवेन न सा दृष्टा या सृष्टा कौशिकी मया । तादृशी कन्यका लोके न भूता न भविष्यति
devyuvāca | kiṃ devena na sā dṛṣṭā yā sṛṣṭā kauśikī mayā | tādṛśī kanyakā loke na bhūtā na bhaviṣyati
The Goddess said: “Has the Lord not seen her—Kauśikī—whom I myself have brought forth? Such a maiden has never existed in the world before, nor shall she ever exist again.”
Parvati (Devi)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Durgā
Role: creative
It highlights Śakti’s unique, unrepeatable power of manifestation—Kauśikī is presented as an extraordinary expression of the Goddess, reminding devotees that divine grace can appear in incomparable forms for the protection of dharma.
In Shaiva understanding, Saguna Shiva is worshipped together with Śakti; the verse emphasizes that Shiva’s divine play (līlā) and governance of the world are experienced through Shakti’s manifested forms, complementing Linga worship where Shiva is the Pati and Shakti is His inseparable power.
A practical takeaway is Shakti–Shiva integrated worship: recite the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) while contemplating the inseparability of Shiva and Devi, and offer simple devotion (bilva, lamp, or mental worship) acknowledging divine power as protective and world-sustaining.
