Pacification of Vīrabhadra and the Gods’ Hymn
लब्धमानो भविष्यंति ये पुरा निहिता मृधे । प्रत्यापत्तिर्न कस्य स्यात्प्रसन्ने परमेश्वरे
labdhamāno bhaviṣyaṃti ye purā nihitā mṛdhe | pratyāpattirna kasya syātprasanne parameśvare
Those once laid low in battle shall rise again to honor and attainment. For when the Supreme Lord, Parameśvara (Śiva), is pleased, who could ever meet with reversal or misfortune?
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
It teaches that Śiva’s prasāda (grace) can overturn even defeat and suffering; when Pati (the Lord) is pleased, obstacles and reversals lose their power over the soul.
It supports Saguna worship by emphasizing Śiva as the responsive Parameśvara whose pleasure (prasannatā) protects devotees—an idea central to Linga-upāsanā where the devotee seeks the Lord’s favor through devotion and purity.
The takeaway is to seek Śiva’s pleasure through steady bhakti—daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” along with simple Śiva-pūjā such as offering water to the Liṅga and wearing/remembering Rudrākṣa with sincerity.
