प्रगृह्य च तथा दोषं निगडैरायसैर्दृढैः । बबन्धुः पाणिपादेषु कंधरेषूदरेषु च

Seizing him thus, they bound that offender with firm iron shackles—fastening them upon his hands and feet, and also around his neck and belly.

Tattva Level: pasha
The verse uses physical shackles as a concrete image of pasha—bondage produced by wrongdoing and karmic consequence—contrasted in Shaiva Siddhanta with Shiva (Pati) as the liberator who alone can remove bondage.
It underscores why devotees approach Saguna Shiva in the Linga for grace: worldly powers can bind the body, but only Shiva’s anugraha (saving grace) loosens the deeper bonds of karma and impurity that obstruct liberation.
A practical takeaway is pashupata-bhāva: repentance and self-restraint, supported by japa of the Panchakshara ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and daily remembrance of Shiva as the remover of bondage.
