Pacification of Vīrabhadra and the Gods’ Hymn
प्रसन्नमनसो भूत्वानन्दविह्वलमानसाः । स्तुतिमारेभिरे कर्तुं शंकरस्य दिवौकसः
prasannamanaso bhūtvānandavihvalamānasāḥ | stutimārebhire kartuṃ śaṃkarasya divaukasaḥ
Their minds becoming serene and their hearts overwhelmed with bliss, the gods, dwellers of heaven, began to offer hymns of praise to Śaṅkara.

It shows that true contact with Śiva (Pati) naturally produces inner clarity (prasanna-manas) and bliss, which then expresses itself as stuti—devotional praise that purifies the pashu (individual soul) and loosens the bonds of pasha (limitations).
The devas respond to Śaṅkara in a personal, Saguna manner—through hymns and reverent address—mirroring how devotees approach the Śiva-liṅga with prayers, names, and praises as an accessible form of the Supreme.
Regular stotra-pāṭha (recitation of Shiva hymns) with a calm mind—ideally supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—is the implied practice, as praise arises from and reinforces devotional absorption.
