It highlights the Shaiva ideal of transforming krodha (wrath) into śānti (inner peace): a worthy devotee or divine agent arises to restore harmony, showing that emotions are to be purified and offered back to the Divine.
In Saguna worship, the Divine responds through compassionate guidance and divine agency; pacifying wrath mirrors approaching the Linga with humility, devotion, and purification so the mind becomes fit to realize Shiva as Pati (the Lord) beyond bondage.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a prayer for krodha-śamana (pacification of anger), supported by sattvic conduct; if practiced ritually, it may be paired with bhasma/tripundra and Rudraksha as aids to steadiness.
