Sarasvatī-avatāra-prasaṅgaḥ
Account of Sarasvatī’s Manifestation and the Humbling of the Devas
जंगमाजंगमं सर्वमोतप्रोतमिदं जगत् । मय्येव निखिलाधारे चालयाम्यखिलं जगत्
jaṃgamājaṃgamaṃ sarvamotaprotamidaṃ jagat | mayyeva nikhilādhāre cālayāmyakhilaṃ jagat
This entire universe—of the moving and the unmoving—is woven through and through. Resting in Me alone, the all-supporting foundation, I set the whole cosmos in motion and govern it.
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It declares Shiva as Pati—the supreme, all-supporting reality in whom the entire world is ‘woven,’ and by whose will the cosmos is sustained and regulated; recognizing this leads the soul (paśu) toward liberation from bondage (pāśa).
The Liṅga symbolizes Shiva as the universal substratum—formless in essence yet approachable through worship; this verse supports Saguna devotion as a doorway to realizing Shiva’s all-pervading, sustaining presence.
Meditate on Shiva as the inner support of all beings while repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” using vibhūti (Tripuṇḍra) and/or rudrākṣa as aids to steady remembrance of the all-governing Lord.
