She shone with the radiance of lightning; her costly garments and bodice exalted her lofty bosom. With eight uplifted arms she bore excellent weapons, revealing a formidable, protective divine form.

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
The verse presents the Goddess (Śakti) in a luminous, weapon-bearing form, symbolizing the Lord’s protective grace operating through Saguna manifestation—removing obstacles and guarding the devotee’s dharma so devotion can mature toward liberation.
In Shaiva understanding, the Liṅga signifies Shiva’s transcendent reality, while such vivid descriptions reveal the compassionate Saguna dimension—Shiva with Śakti—through which devotees can focus the mind, cultivate bhakti, and receive protection and guidance.
Meditate on Shiva-Śakti as the protective divine presence (dhyāna), recite the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and support practice with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and rudrākṣa as aids to steadiness, purity, and devotion.
