Account of the Birth/Origin of Vyāsa
You are the primordial Lord of all the gods, the sovereign whose very nature is Existence, Consciousness, and Bliss. For You there are no limiting designations such as name or lineage; O Sadāśiva, You are omniscient.
Parvati (Uma), praising Sadashiva in a philosophical hymn-like address
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It declares Sadāśiva as the supreme Pati—primordial, omniscient, and of the nature of Sat-Cit-Ānanda—who transcends all limiting identities, guiding the seeker toward liberation through recognizing Shiva’s absolute sovereignty.
Though Shiva is beyond name and lineage (nirguṇa in the sense of beyond limitations), devotees approach Him through saguna supports like the Śiva-liṅga and mantra; the verse reminds that these forms point to the formless, all-knowing Sadāśiva.
Meditate on Shiva as Sat-Cit-Ānanda while repeating the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), letting the mind drop ego-based labels (name, status, lineage) and rest in the awareness of the omniscient Lord.
