FAQs

It teaches that mere divine status does not guarantee right knowledge; even devas can fall into doubt, and liberation-oriented understanding begins with humble listening and alignment with ultimate truth (Brahman), which Shaiva Siddhanta ultimately recognizes as fulfilled in the realization of Pati (Śiva).

By correcting the devas’ mistaken speech about Brahman, the text prepares the ground for right apprehension of Śiva—often approached through saguna supports like the Liṅga—so devotion is guided by correct doctrine rather than confusion or mere argument.

The immediate practice is śravaṇa—attentive listening to true teaching; as a Shaiva takeaway, one may pair this with daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) to steady the mind and remove doubt.
