O sages, in that realm what seemed to be only a single moment had, in truth, become the passage of many yugas. Yet King Kakudmī perceived none of it at all.

Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Cosmic Event: relativity of time across lokas; many yugas pass while perceived as a moment
It highlights the relativity of time across planes of existence and points to a Shaiva insight: kāla (time) is a binding condition for embodied beings, while true freedom is found in turning toward the timeless Lord (Pati), not clinging to worldly measures.
Linga-worship trains the mind to rest in Shiva as the unchanging reality behind changing time-cycles (yugas). By worshipping Saguna Shiva through the Linga, the devotee is led toward recognition of Shiva’s transcendence over kāla.
A practical takeaway is steady japa of the Panchakshara—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—to stabilize awareness beyond fluctuations of time, supported by regular Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) application and inward contemplation on Shiva as the eternal witness.
