Upamanyu’s Instruction
न शस्त्राणि वहंत्यंगे धर्मतस्तस्य धीमतः । ग्रहस्यातिबलस्याजौ चक्रवज्रमुखान्यपि
na śastrāṇi vahaṃtyaṃge dharmatastasya dhīmataḥ | grahasyātibalasyājau cakravajramukhānyapi
For the wise one who stands firm in dharma, weapons do not cling to his body. In battle against the exceedingly powerful Graha, even discuses and vajra-like arms prove futile.

It teaches that dharma—aligned with Shiva as Pati (the Lord and protector)—becomes an inner armor: when one is established in righteous conduct and devotion, external forces lose their power to harm.
In Linga/Saguna Shiva worship, the devotee seeks Shiva’s grace as protective presence; the verse echoes that true protection is not merely physical but arises from living dharmically under Shiva’s lordship.
Cultivate dharma alongside daily Shiva-upasana: japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namah Shivaya) with vibhuti (Tripundra) and Rudraksha as reminders of inner discipline and fearlessness.
