ऋषभचरित्रवर्णनम् (Ṛṣabha-caritra-varṇanam) — “Account of Ṛṣabha’s Sacred Narrative”
पराशरश्च गर्गश्च भार्गवो गिरिशस्तथा । चत्वारस्तत्र शिष्या मे भविष्यन्ति सुयोगिनः
parāśaraśca gargaśca bhārgavo giriśastathā | catvārastatra śiṣyā me bhaviṣyanti suyoginaḥ
“Parāśara, Garga, Bhārgava, and also Giriśa—these four will be my disciples there, accomplished yogins.”
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
The verse highlights Shiva as the supreme Guru (Pati) who establishes qualified disciples—“su-yogins”—showing that liberation-oriented knowledge and practice are transmitted through disciplined discipleship and divine guidance.
By presenting Shiva speaking in a personal, instructive role, the verse supports Saguna Shiva devotion—approaching Shiva as the living Teacher who guides seekers; such guidance traditionally culminates in steadfast worship (including Linga-upāsanā) and inner yoga.
The direct emphasis is on becoming “su-yogin” through sustained yogic discipline under a guru; in Shaiva practice this is commonly supported by japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and steady dhyāna on Shiva, alongside pure conduct.
