एतस्मिन्समये तत्र सस्मितो भगवान्भवः । एह्येहीति समाहूय मूर्ध्न्याघ्राय ददौ वरान्
etasminsamaye tatra sasmito bhagavānbhavaḥ | ehyehīti samāhūya mūrdhnyāghrāya dadau varān
At that very moment, the Blessed Lord Bhava (Śiva), smiling gently, called him near, saying, “Come, come.” Drawing him close and smelling the crown of his head in affection, the Lord bestowed boons upon him.

It highlights Śiva’s anugraha (grace): the Supreme Pati becomes tenderly accessible in His saguna form, drawing the devotee close and granting blessings through compassion, not mere merit.
Though Śiva is nirguṇa in essence, the Purāṇa emphasizes His saguna nearness—He responds personally to devotion. Linga-worship similarly trains the mind to approach Śiva with intimacy, reverence, and surrender.
A simple takeaway is bhakti-yoga: approach Śiva through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and humble surrender, seeking His grace as the source of boons and inner purification.
